X-men: First Class and the other movies have nothing to do with each other, it’s an entirely different plotline, something the comics go through quite frequently.  There is no canon plotline officially cos there are so many different timelines and universes in the comics.

Hell the first time Charles loses the use of his legs it’s an alien dropping a boulder on him.
